To be a good entrepreneur, you should be a good human being” -Advocate Sultana Kamal in YSSE Seminar. On 12nd April 2016, more than 70 young potential entrepreneurs from different discipline participated in a seminar on “Become a Business Citizen (Self-employment and Entrepreneurs)” held at EMK Center, Dhaka organized by Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs (YSSE), a youth led non-government organization registered in Dhaka-Bangladesh that promotes social entrepreneurship and fosters young generation as social entrepreneurs in order to create positive social and environmental changes.

As a chief guest, Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman, Dhaka School of Economics and Chairman, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) graced the seminar while Advocate Sultana Kamal, Chairperson, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Executive Director, Ain o Salish Kendra and Advisor to the Former Caretaker Government discussed as the Guest Of Honor.

“To be an entrepreneur, you should be a good human being. Remember one thing that we all have responsibility towards our society. If you work with a responsible mind, you definitely will be successful”, said Advocate Sultana Kaman in the seminar.

Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad said that collective development is more important than self-development. “To reach this goal, young generation should work with collective effort”, Dr. Ahmad adde. He also inspires the dreamers of YSSE for its wonderful work and advised to continue its journey.

Among the speakers of the semianr, Abdul Matin Sheikh, Founder and Director of BacBon foundation, Mr. Mashahed Hassan Simanta , Professional Trainer & Speaker, Mr. Ashfaq Zaman, Partner & Managing Director , MAK & CO, Mr. Towfique Ahmad Khan, South Asian Youth Society (SAYS), Mr. Osama Bin Noor, Cofounder , Youth Opportunities took part in the discussion.

The objective of the seminar is to generate awareness among the university student on self-employment and to motivate them for initiating a start up as Social Entrepreneurs after completing the varsity level education. Generally the traditional university teaching method teaches the student how to be an excellent employee rather than to be self-employed or a successful entrepreneur. In a developing economy like Bangladesh, the state of unemployment has given rise to increased rural urban migration for job opportunities.

“For solving these challenges a bit, YSSE is working to generate awareness among the young generation specially the university students and to motivate them to be a social entrepreneur as the social entrepreneurs who can solve social problem and eradicate the poverty creating a self-dependant Bangladesh” said Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf Hossain, Founder and President of YSSE. He concluded the seminar with vote of thanks to all.
